Members of Hilo Colectivo offer visits to schools in various regions of the United States, Latin America, and Spain. These visits aim to introduce children and adults to topics such as: how children’s books are made; fantasy, mystery, and horror books; motivation and inspiration for reading and writing; and more. During our visits, we read our books, answer questions, organize activities to encourage active and critical reading, and motivate young authors to write their own stories.

Each visit is specially prepared to address the specific needs of each school. Sometimes it consists solely of readings and questions about the authors’ and illustrators’ work, while other times it involves workshops in small groups, classes, or larger audiences.
