Alejandra Collao lives in La Paz, Bolivia. She is an architect and self-taught in graphic design and illustration. Currently, she offers virtual English language courses for children. Her jump from architecture to illustration is due to her ever-present desire to travel. Before the world went into a coma due to the pandemic, she arrived in the Netherlands where she began to experiment in the field of crafts (embroidery and design of t-shirts made with serigraphy). In mid-2020, she enrolled in story illustration and narrative courses. Currently she continues to learn and search for different styles to be able to express herself and transmit concepts, ideas or stories that wander in her head. “La vizcacha” is the title of her first story and her illustrations are made with watercolor and a bit of darkness. Following this book, he published Charán charán and El Apu, both rooted in the Andean landscapes. When she loses her inspiration, she goes out, grabs a bow and an arrow, and goes hunting for a pumpkin or two, and if she’s lucky, she catches a watermelon. After doing something like that, anyone would have a story to tell.

Alejandra Collao vive en La Paz, Bolivia. Es arquitecta y autodidacta en diseño gráfico e ilustración. Actualmente, ofrece cursos virtuales de inglés para niños. Su transición de la arquitectura a la ilustración se debe a su constante deseo de viajar. Antes de que el mundo entrara en coma por la pandemia, llegó a los Países Bajos, donde comenzó a experimentar con las manualidades (bordado y diseño de camisetas mediante serigrafía). A mediados de 2020, se matriculó en cursos de ilustración y narrativa. Actualmente, continúa aprendiendo y explorando diferentes estilos para poder expresarse y transmitir conceptos, ideas o historias que rondan por su cabeza. La vizcacha es el título de su primer cuento, cuyas ilustraciones están hechas con acuarela y un toque de oscuridad. Luego de este libro, ha publicado Charán charán y El Apu, ambos enraizados en los paisajes andinos. Cuando pierde la inspiración, sale, toma un arco y una flecha, y va en busca de una o dos calabazas, y si tiene suerte, pesca una sandía. Después de hacer algo así, cualquiera tendría una historia que contar.
